The Peace and Security Collaborative provides top-notch research, training, and facilitation services to NGOs, government agencies, and multilateral organizations seeking positive outcomes toward peace and security. With expertise in gender and inclusive processes, we seek to support participatory and locally-driven programs that contribute to sustainable peace worldwide.

CONSULTING SERVICES
RESEARCH
Building on years of desk and field research experience, we provide clients with qualitative research support, drafting, and copyediting services. Past projects include full research reports as well as case studies on constitution drafting, inclusive governance in conflict-affected contexts, and other topics related to women, peace, and security.
TRAINING
Through our in-person training facilitation and curriculum development services, we develop tailored, context-specific trainings to meet our clients’ needs. Our training approach is grounded in participatory and adult learning methodologies. Past projects include trainings on a range of topics including policy advocacy, P/CVE, and gender integration.
FACILITATION
From strategic planning to team building, we help clients drive individual and organizational learning, innovative thinking, and consensus building. These services range from short-term (one-day session) or longer-term (multiple sessions over months) engagements. We also offer facilitation services related to simulations and experiential learning.
GRANT WRITING
With over ten years of experience in the non-profit sector, we understand the nature of funding cycles and donor cultivation. We support and advise clients with a range of services, from concept notes to full proposals for
peace and security related programs.
STRATEGIC PLANNING + ORGANIZATIONAL LEARNING
We provide clients with facilitation and advisory services to assess individual programs as well as organizational long-term planning. Prior projects have included a review of women, peace, and security related programming and development of a 5-year strategic plan.
DESIGN, MONITORING + EVALUATION
We use our breadth of experience in the peace and security sector to advise clients on program design and assist with building monitoring and evaluation systems. Our program design philosophy prioritizes conflict sensitivity and community-driven approaches.
NANAKO TAMARU, PRINCIPAL
Nanako Tamaru is the principal of the Peace and Security Collaborative. As a licensed attorney and experienced practitioner, she focuses primarily on peace process design, constitution drafting, and inclusive approaches to statebuilding.
Nanako also serves as Executive Director of the Boston Network for International Development and Associate for Peacebuilding Effectiveness at CDA Collaborative Learning. She is also a faculty member at Brandeis University's Heller School for Social Policy and Management. Previously, she worked for Inclusive Security where she led research and training programs examining why women's inclusion matters for peace and how it can be achieved.
Nanako has also managed peacebuilding programs in Syria and Somalia and has written on issues related to governance and conflict resolution for Inclusive Security, UN Women, United Nations Development Programme, International IDEA, and Conflict Dynamics International.
